Junior Sets Mile Time

(N.Z. Press Association)

WANGANUI.

The New Zealand junior mile record fell in Wanganui last night when 18-year-old David Bullock recorded 4min 7.3 sec, breaking Rex Maddaford’s time of 4min Bsec. His previous best time for the mile was 4min 13.2 sec, which he ran early in December.

Bullock’s time is believed to be a Commonwealth best for the distance by an 18-year-old.
