First Defeat Suffered In Croquet Tourney
Mrs J. McCracken suffered her first defeat in the South Island croquet tournament yesterday. She and her partner, Mrs J. Martin, lost to J. McNabb and Mrs McNabb in a semi-final of the second life of the championship doubles. Mrs Martin and Mrs McCracken now meet F. W. Gumeey and L. MdtcheH in the final of the first tide, while Mr and Mrs McNab play Mrs V. Wbitcombe and Mrs F. A. Barrow in the final of the second life.
Gurnsey and Mitchell scored a comfortable win over their opponents, A. J. Brunntng and Mrs B’easedale, in a semi-final of the first life.
