BUILDINGS WRECKED
New Hebrides Earthquakes
(HZ. Preu Assn.— Copyright) VILA (New Hebrides), Feb. 3. Earthquakes at the weekend wrecked buildings on Shepherds Island in the south central New Hebrides.
The villages of Tongoa, Tangariki and Buninga were hit by tremors on Friday and Saturday which reached force 5-6 on the Mercalli scale.
The British and French district agents reported landslides in the villages and wrecked homes and churches at Tongoa. No deaths have been reported.
