Fire Destroys Car

Fire completely burned-out a car in Rockinghorse road yesterday afternoon. The car, a 1931 model, is thought to have been converted Youths were seen running away from it when the fire broke out

The car, valued at about £25, was owned by Mr G. Gaynor, of 314 Pine avenue. Two fire engines from the New Brighton station answered the alarm at 3.58 p.m., but the vehicle was ablaze from end to end when they arrived.

The New Brighton police and detectives from the Central Police Station were making inquiries and an arrest was expected late last night. The New Brighton police earlier arrested two youths for stealing petrol.
