Excluded Students

(N.Z. Press Association)

WELLINGTON, Feb. 1

Poor academic records will bar 100 students of Victoria University from attendance this year if their appeals to the university’s professorial board for reinstatement fail. The vice-chancellor (Dr. J. Williams) said the students had been excluded because of their academic record in the last two years. (Under present regulations, students at the university must achieve at least two units in two years.) The Professorial Board will consider the appeals next month. Dr. Williams said he felt some of the students might be given another chance to study this year.

Other students will be allowed to return on stipulated conditions while others will be refused re-entry.
