Labour’s Prospects In The U.K. and N.Z.
Sir,—The Hull Labour victory is a pointer to a Labour victory here at the end of the year. The dynamic Labour Government’s forthright economic and Rhodesian policies have been endorsed by the public, who are sick as we are, of Tory bungling. Recently “Disillusioned Labour Supporter” wrongly claimed that the Government would win West Coast-seats as it had cancelled out the Westport Harbour scheme. Labour M.P.’s fought for it and got it against Tory opposition, which only yielded to get votes. Labour's majority in Buller increased in 1963 because the . iople know that Tory pandering to the oil companies has closed many West Coast coal 1 ines.—Yours, etc., DISILLUSIONED NATIONALIST.
