SHORE 2210 LAMBS

Five Shearers Claim Record (N.Z. Press Association,) INVERCARGILL, Jan. 17. Shearing 2210 uncrutehed Romney ewe lambs in a ninehour day, five shearers from Gore are believed to have set a New Zealand record today. The gang and 11 shed-hands were shearing at the Salvation Army farm at Kaiwera, 17 miles from Gore. The shearers broke the farm's shed record of 2079, set last year and then a New Zealand record, by a gang which included three of the five men who shore today. The shearers’ personal tallies were H. Morrell 459, S. Morrell 448, Mahu Hokiri 446, P. Hokaia 435 and C. O. Paenga 422.
