OBJECTS IN SKY

Sightings In Hawke’s Bay (N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER. Jan. 18. Sightings of flying objects in Hawke’s Bay skies have been reported this week. The first sighting, of a “pinkish coloured” object, was made on Sunday night by a Napier man. Mr W. R. Manning. A similar type of sighting, the object having a dia-mond-like shine, was made on the same night by a man on the Napier-Taupo road. On both occasions the object appeared to be slow-mov-ing and heading from north to south-east. After the sightings on Sunday came a report of a fastmoving object in the evening sky last night by another Napier man, Mr L. Fisher. This object, believed by Mr Fisher to be a satellite, was visible for about a quarter of an hour and was observed through a strong binocular.
