INVERCARGILL. Bill Adonis, in the Lornevllle Handicap, . and Majeur in the President s Handicap were easy winners of the double races on the opening day of the Invercargill Trotting Club’s New Year meeting on Saturday. The combination returned £24 14s for £l. The racing was held in fine weather and the track was in good order. The totalisator on course handled £36,228 10s, compared with £41,618 10s on the corresponding day last year, a decrease of £5390. Results:
