(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, January 14. The Prudential Assurance Company, Ltd., wrote more than £AlOOOm worth of new life assurance in 1965, the general manager for Australia and New Zealand (Mr S. C. Canfield) said.

Figures for the year ending December 31, 1965, showed new premium income under assurances and annuities effected in the life branches increased to £42m from £36m in 1964. Sums assured of £1159m and annuities of £34.8m were written.

Mr Canfield said that new premium income for Prudential in Australia last year was nearly 4 per cent higher than for 1964. The new sums assured figure was a record for the Prudential’s Australian organisation.
