Queensland's total would have been much smaller but for an unbeaten ninth-wicket partnership of 54 between J. Morgan and D. Lillie. At one stage Queensland had loot tour wickets tor only 49 runs. But a fifth-wicket stand of 110 in 80 minutes between the test discard. T. Veivers. and the young left-hander, K. Crane, retrieved the poeiiton. Veivers batted powerfully to score 61 in 86 minutes, with five four, and a six. Crane had 10 foure ui his 56.
