Twelve Injured In Accidents

Two persons were injured when two cars collided at the intersection of Woodham road and Gloucester street about 11 p.m. on Saturday. Kevin D. Atkin, aged 10, the son of Mrs E. Atkin, of 36 Trevor street, was admitted to Christchurch Hospital with head injuries and lacerations. His condition last night was satisfactory. Miss J. Stringfellow, of 48 Rapaki road, suffered head injuries. She was treated at Christchurch Hospital and discharged. The injured persons were passengers in different cars.

Three persons were injured when a car struck a pole in New Brighton road about 1.53 p.m. on Saturday. Miss L. Watson, of 430 Bower avenue, suffered head and chest injuries. She was treated at Christchurch Hospital and discharged. Mr J. E. Arthur, of 22 Gasson street, suffered lacerations to the face. He was treated at Christchurch Hospital and discharged. Mr W. Richard, of 202 Cinan street, Invercargill, suffered head injuries and shock. He also was treated at Christchurch Hospital and discharged. Two persons were injured when a car struck a pole on the Main South road, near Weedons, about 10.30 a.m. on Saturday. Miss J. F. Ahlfeld, aged 18, of 15 Seddon street, suffered minor head injuries. She was treated at Christchurch Hospital and dis-

charged. Mr Waretini, aged 21, of 181 Durham street, suffered concussion. He was admitted to Christchurch Hospital and was discharged yesterday.

A motor-cyclist and his pillion passenger were both taken to Christchurch Hospital when the motor-cycle and a van collided at the intersection of Huxley and Burlington streets about 12.50 p.m. on Saturday. The motorcyclist, Mr Peter J. Bigg, of 38 Longfellow street, suffered head injuries. He was admitted to Christchurch Hospital and was discharged yesterday. The pillion passenger, Susan Morse, aged 15, of 130 Tennyson street, suffered shock, lacerations and an arm injury. She was also admitted to Christchurch Hospital where her condition last night was fairly satisfactory.

When two cars collided in Marine Parade, near Rawhiti Domain about 2.47 p.m. yesterday three persons suffered injuries. Miss Lynette Smith, of Cobden street, R.D. 1, Carterton, who suffered head injuries, was admitted to Christchurch Hospital. Her condition last night was satisfactory. Miss Ellen Jones, of 52 Belvedere road, Carterton, suffered a hip injury. She was treated at Christchurch Hospital and discharged. Larry Reginald Hammond, of 14 Bailey place, suffered an injury to his leg. He was treated at Christchurch Hospital and discharged.
