Truck Cuts Rail Service
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 16. The Wairarapa rail-car service was interrupted tonight when a truck hit and damaged a bridge between Mauriceville and Eketahuna. The truck, carrying a bulldozer, hit a beam underneath the bridge. The Railways Department said the bridge would not be in use for rail traffic until Tuesday. Passengers will be transported between Mauriceville and Eketahuna by bus.
