CRITIC OF MANGERE

“Mayor Should Know Retter” (N Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 14. The chairman of the Auckland Airport Committee, Mr R. W. Bennett, said today that Auckland's Mayor, Dr. R. G. McElroy, should know better than to criticise facilities at the airport’s interim terminal. The Mayor should know the terminal was only temporary and that a lot of work had gone into ensuring that passenger facilities were provided for the opening of the airport in November, said Mr Bennett.

“This terminal was shot up very quickly. Even so we have had a lot of compliments from the most critical of overseas airlines."

Dr. McElroy said yesterdayon his return from three weeks in Honolulu that tourists would be dismayed and repelled by the “inadequate" facilities.
