Jamboree Ends

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 13. A crowd of 6000 scouts and visitors gathered for the closing ceremony of the Progress Jamboree at Trentham tonight. The white jamboree flag was illuminated by a big spotlight as it was lowered. The Australian Chief Scout Commissioner, Mr R. Nichols, declared the jamboree closed. He said the jamboree was a fitting monument to the progress and achievement of the Scout Movement in New Zealand. The theme of the jam-boree-progress-implied forward movement.

The jamboree had helped show scouts the way of life which would enable to make the world a better place.
