Heavy Ferry Traffic

(N.Z Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 14. During the period December 20 to January 13, the ferry steamers Maori and Hinemoa have carried 40,000 passengers and 4000 cars. To cope with the additional demand in January, caused by returning holidaymakers and scouts, seven special daylight and three Sunday sailings from both Wellington and Lyttelton, have been scheduled. These include three during this week-end. Figures fo- the Aramoana were at present not available, an official of the Railways Department said today it was understood the number of passengers and cars carried has been very heavy.
