Goldstern was the best competitor from New Zealand, taking eighth place in the combined results of the British ski championships at Andermatt, Switzerland. He had 12,777 points. The winner was J. Palmer-Tom-kinson (England), with 11,924. J. Somervaille, of New Zealand, collected 14,136 points, to finish 18th. The New Zealand performances in yesterday’s downhill, 1.46 miles, with a drop of 2070 ft, were: O. Clearkin, eleventh, lmin 53.545ec: Goldstern, sixteenth, lmin 54.785ec; and Somervaille, seventeenth, lmin 55.545ec. The race was won by C. Palmer-Tomkinson (England), in lmin 45.335ec.
