BISHOP MARRIES CATHOLIC PRIEST

Father Pedro Vidigal, 62-year-old Roman Catholic priest and Federal deputy, married Ruth Guerra, a 49-year-old bank manageress, in a secret ceremony this week in Mariana. Father Vidigal, Who received special permission to marry from the Vatican, will
lose his priesrtly status but says he will continue to serve the church in other ways. The religious ceremony, conducted by Archbishop Dom Oscar de Oliviera, was kept secret to avoid publicity. A civil ceremony was planned later in the bride’s home town of Nova Era. The couple, friends since childhood, are honeymooning on a farm.
