Yacht Race Awards
The Wellington-Akaroa yacht race had its finale when more than 200 persons attended the prize-giving function at Akaroa. Wing Commander C. W. Bromley, assistant director of the Rothmans Sport Foundation, presented the Rothmans trophy to the winning crew and Mrs A. R. Guthrey, wife of the patron of the Akaroa Cruising Club, presented the other prizes. Major prizes awarded were: Rothman Trophy, £lOO and silver cup: Calypso (A. R Couling), first on corrected time.
Line honours cup and second on corrected time; £7O and Epiglass silver cup: Caprice (N. Dimmock). Third on corrected time, £55: Charmaine (B. Barraclough). Fourth on corrected time, £25; Entreaty (D. C. Gould).
