N.Z. Yacht Disqualified

The New Zealand skiff, Miss 1.G.A., skippered by D. Kean, lost her second place in the second heat of the world 18ft skiff championship when a protest against her was upheld in Brisbane yesterday. The protest was lodged by N. Todkill, skipper of Hot Toddy 11, for a breach of the port and starboard rule. The breach occurred in the early stages of the heat, which was won by Travelodge, with Miss I.G.A. second and Friends O’Miller third.

With the disqualification. Miss I.G.A. loses a valuable 70.83 points, and is now third over-all behind Travelodge (R. Holmes), on 229.16, and Apex. 170.83.
