Sail Away Fit
“The Press” Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH.
A good gallop over about seven furlongs at Woodville yesterday cemented Sail Away’s position as pre-post favourite for the Marton Cup. The gelding worked well although shaded by Fleeting Moment as he crossed the line.
Accompanied by Gayemana and Truegent, Away and Fleeting Moment worked from the foot of the straight and ran solidly from the six. They galloped home in Imin 17}s-ec, taking 38fsec for the final three. Fleeting Moment had his head in front alii the way down the straight, but Sall Away could have passed him at any point. It was a good gallop by both. Truegent also did well for he was almost in line and still going strongly. Jan Eyre disappointed in her final gallop for the sprint, being extended fully by Sherlocks at the end of five furlongs in Imin 4sec, the last three in 37 2-ssec. Sherlocks is looking bright, working well and could soon regain form.
