First Profit For Pioneer Firm (N.Z. Press Assn.— Copyright) SYDNEY, Jan. 13. One of Australia’s major pioneer cotton growers, Auscott Pty., Ltd., earned a group net profit of £243,167 for the year ended June 30. The result contrasts with a loss of £165,417 for the previous 12 months —the company’s first full year’s result. Auscott is a wholly-owned subsidiary of J. G. Boswell, a Californian cotton grower. It began operations in the Narrabri Wee Waa district of North-West New South Wales in 1963. The crop area for the 1964(65 season was about 5000 (acres.
C.-Neon Ind. Earnings Up (N.Z. Press Assn —Copyright) SYDNEY, Jan. 13. Group net profit of Claude Neon Industries, Ltd., rose by £46,244, or 9.8 per cent, to £517,373 for the year ended June 30 last. The company is a subsidiary of W. R. Carpenter and Company Ltd., having been taken over in 1961. Dividend is raised from £221,064 to £252,645. Earning rate improves from 37.3 to 41 per cent on paid capital of £1,263,224. Notes to the accounts show un-matured rentals totalling £7 Um (£7.lm).
