Speedway Rider Hurt

(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON. A motor-cyclist, J. Pulman, was admitted to New Plymouth Hospital with spinal injuries last night after a crash at the Waiwakaiho Speedway. Pulman’s condition was described today as fair. G. Peterson, behind Pulman. flipped his machine on its side to avoid the fallen rider, but D. Gifford failed to clear them and Pulman was struck. P. Stokes, thrown from his machine in the same race, landed on the other side of the safety fence, where he remained unnoticed for some time. His machine was badly damaged, but he was not hurt.
