LAND LEASE TO U.S.
Radio Station Near Perth (N.Z. Press Assn —Copyright) PERTH, Jan. 13. The United States has officially become a tenant of the West Australian Government. In a brief ceremony at the State Treasury yesterday the Prime Minister, Mr David Brand, handed over a lease agreement covering 130 home sites and land for six classrooms. He presented the lease to Captain William T. Maley, officer in charge of construction at the United States Navy’s very low frequency radio station at Exmouth, near Perth. The base will have a population of 2000 in a year.
