BORDER DISPUTE

Agreement In Teheran (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) BEIRUT, Jan. 13. The Iraqi Prime Minister, Abdel Rahman Al Bazzar, has announced that Iraq and Persia had agreed on proposals to settle their border dispute. Baghdad Radio reported that Mr Bazzar told a news conference that the two countries had agreed on three proposals presented by the Iraqi Ambassador to Teheran. He said these concerned: withdrawal of Persian troops from areas close to the Iraqi border, ending of the propaganda warfare between the two countries, and the formation of joint committees to discuss border problems. Tension arose after Persia accused Iraq of launching air and land attacks on frontier villages in her campaign against Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq. Iraq replied with allegations that Persia had been helping the insurgents and had allowed supplies to reach them across her frontier.
