Kay Filou Has Had Checkered Career
Kay Filou’s Goldfields Cup victory at Thames last Saturday was popular and well earned.
Kay Filou had had more than the usual number of setbacks in her racing career and her present record of five wins and £2370 is meritorious.
Nearing the end of her two-year-oid programme Kay Filou broke down in a foreleg, and had to be put aside for some time.
During the running of the Hauraki Handicap, which she won, at Ellerslie in 1963 she damaged a tendon. She was put out of work again and did not reappear for six months. Four months ago. while running in a paddock on the farm of her part-ow-ner, Mr A, H. Langford, she cut a hind leg badly in a wire fence. Kay Filou is a five-year-old by Le Filou out of Desre, by Hello Peter front Here’s Luck, by Admiral's Luck from Lian-
ore, by . Pershore from Lianilly by Wolawa from the imported Llanishen.
