OFFICIALS LATE
Passengers Had Two Hour Wait (N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 12. The 79 passengers who arrived at Auckland Airport on an Air New Zealand flight from Nandi this morning were held up for nearly two hours in the transit lounge. “We were herded around like a lot of sheep with no-one telling us what was going on,” said one of the passengers, Mr D. C. Waite, of Auckland. He said facilities were inadequate in the room where the passengers had to wait. “There were only about 15 seats, and after a trip that started with a reporting time of 2 a.m. in Nandi that doesn't really seem good enough," said Mr Waite. Customs officials said the delay was caused by the late arrival at the airport of Health and Agriculture Department representatives, who had not seen the revised flight schedule.
