N.Z. Gunners Mortared

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) HAU NGHIA PROVINCE, Jan. 11. New Zealand gunners leapt from under their mosquito nets and dived into slit trenches early yesterday morning as Viet Cong mortar bombs burst nearby. Light casualties were inflicted by the blasts among American troops at the joint Anzac-United States position west of the “iron triangle” war zone. Five times since they arrived at their position on Saturday the gunners have been forced to take cover as mortar shrapnel and bullets whined overhead. But the battery has had no casualties.
