Mercenaries For Vietnam
(N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) MELBOURNE, January 11. A group of white South African Congo mercenaries said in Johannesburg yesterday that the United States Army had enlisted them to fight in South Vietnam, the “Melbourne Herald” reported today.
According to the newspaper they are being paid 1000 dollars a month—almost treble the pay of an average American private. They said a small group has already flown to Vietnam, and that they are in a second group of 74 who will leave for Vietnam early next month. The newspaper said United
