Food Labelling

Sir, —J.H.E.S. thought it was a statutory obligation to mark the net weight of the contents on all food packs. Is it no 1 also obligatory for the name of the manufacturer and country of origin to be printed on packs of human or animal foods? One brand of animal food available here bears neither the manufacturer’s name nor the country of origin. Petitions are circulating in England, under distinguished patronage, requesting the listing in detail of the contents of all food packs.—Yours, etc., WITHOUT LAPSES. January 9, 1966.
