CASTLE IN SCOTLAND

Aucklanders’ Inheritance (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 11. A former Auckland city councillor, Mr C. S. Passmore, and his wife have inherited a castle in Perthshire, 35 miles from Edinburgh. Mr Passmore is at present in Scotland supervising the redecoration of the building. The 48-room castle stands on nine acres of farmland and six cottages are provided for the gardeners and their families. Stenton castle was formerly owned and occupied by an aunt of Mrs Passmore whose relatives have been connected with a Scottish whisky distillery for many years.
