Palmer Wins LA. Open

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LOS ANGELES

Arnold Palmer, after watching a seven-stroke lead dwindle to only one, settled down on Sunday to finish with a two-over-par 73 and win the 70,000 dollars Los Angeles Open golf tournament with a 72-hole score of 273.

Paul Harney, the contender who moved to within a stroke of Palmer at one point, saw his dramatic rally fall short, and wound up in a tie for second with M. Barber at 276. Harney shot a 67 on Sunday, and Barber a six-under-par 65.
