Householders Aided Burglars

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 10. Burglars had to force an entry at only 30 of the 189 houses burgled in Auckland in December. “In all others the householders had made it easy by leaving doors and windows unlocked or open,” DetectiveSergeant P. M. Faulkner, Auckland’s crime prevention officer, said today. Property stolen was worth more than £4574.

Only 12 of the 96 cars from which property worth £2127 was stolen had been left locked.
