N.Z. BOOK SEIZED

‘Suggestive Title’ (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, January 10. Sydney customs officers last week seized copies of the New Zealand book “Lap of Honour” because they thought the title was suggestive. The Sydney office of the New Zealand publishing firm of A H. and A. W. Reed was informed last week by its customs agents that the Customs Department wanted to “review” the book. The book, by an Auckland writer, Norman Harris, is subtitled: “The Great Moments in New Zealand Athletics.” A spokesman for the Customs Department confirmed today that officers had asked to look at the book before it was released. “We saw it on a list of titles submitted to us for importation, and just wanted to see what it was all about i “But when we saw the book, we released it immediately. The whole matter is finished and done with now,’’ he said.
