MT. COOK CLIMBS
Five Parties At Week-end
Four of five parties climbed Mt. Cook by way of the Linda Glacier on Saturday, and the fifth ascended the mountain by way of the Zurbiggen ridge, the Mt. Cook National Park Board chief ranger (Mr M. L. Burke) said last evening.
They are R. Cunningham and J. Smith (Howick); G. Hasler (Mosgiel) and I. Meyer (a Swiss working at the Hermitage); T. Park and D. Adcock (Wellington); M. Jones and H. Laing, who climbed by way of Zurbiggen; and two members of the Meiji University Alpine Club. Two members of the All-Japan-New Zealand expedition were on the Minaret and two on Mt. Malte Brun. Mt. Sealy was climbed by B. Perkins (Australia) with Senior Ran-ger-Guide P. F. Boswell. Mt. Annette and Mt. Kitchener were climbed by Misses S. O’Leary and J. Millen, and Messrs B. Dakin and G. O’Leary (Wellington).
