The double at the Westland Racing Club’s New Year meeting at Hokitika today will be on the anniversary Handicap and the Fox Glacier Hack Handicap.

Form at Kumara on ' Saturday points to the favouritism in the first leg being shared among Totara Lad; his stablemate, Rae's Hope, and [ Morris Francis. Totara Lad has the same] weight as he won with over! a furiong less at Kumara but > that should not trouble him:: he led from end to end to win the Greymouth Cup of a! mile and a quarter, at the: end of November. Rae’s Hope is sure to be. improved by yesterday's race.! Morris Francis failed by over a head to win the main event at Kumara.
