Spencer, Vai Av- ; eril, and Yakety Yak. Little Smoke and Spencer, like Whaka, were owned by Mr W. Hosking. Mr Hosking’s trio were bought by F. Gerry, a > New York trainer. Gerry, who is on a brief visit to New Zealand, originally in- . tended to buy only Little Smoke, but he was quite taken bv the other two. Mr N. Simpson purchased Vai Averil and Yakety Yak.
