Mental Health Division

“The Press” Special Sereice AUCKLAND, Jan. 9. Dr. J. J. Crawshaw has retired after 40 years with the mental health service division of the Department of Health. He was medical officer at Seacliff, Nelson and Porirua Hospitals and moved to Kingseat Hospital 22 years ago as senior medical officer. ' He was appointed medical superintendent in 1950. Besides his medical work, Dr. Crawshaw was the inspiration behind the building of the Chapel of the Good Samaritan at Kingseat which is expected to be dedicated this month. Dr. Crawshaw is a serving brother of the Order of St. John, a Justice of the Peace, a past president of the PapaIkura Rotary Club and patron i of the Franklin District Rose I Society.
