Summer Work Near End

SCOTT BASE. Jan. The Antarctic summer season is coming to a close. Last night New Zealand’s southern geological party returned to Scott Base.

Last week the Victoria University geological party completed its work in the Dry Valley region and left for New Zealand.

The last party of geologists the northern party, is expected back at Scott Base tomorrow.

These are the three geological field parties of this summer season’s New Zealand Antarctic research programme.

The remaining five parties will complete their projects by the middle of February.
