Minor Fires

Two units from the New Brighton Fire Station extinguished a grass and scrub fire on the foreshore at New Brighton about 5.33 p.m. on Saturday. The fire, opposite Caspian street, caused no damage. At 10.24 p.m. on Saturday a grass fire on a vacant section at the rear of 10 Kowhai terrace was extinguished without damage by one unit from Headquarters and one from Sydenham. At 10.10 a.m. yesterday one unit from the Central station and one from St. Albans extinguished without damage a fire in old tree stumps on a vacant section off Solomon avenue. At 1.25 p.m. units from the same stations extinguished a roadside grass fire outside 89 Crofton road.
