N. York Index Up Again
With a gain of 3.84 points, the New York Dow Jones industrial index on Thursday moved from the previous day’s record level to a record peak of 985.46.
The figure is for an average from 30 industrial stocks traded on the New York Stock Exchange. The new record was set in trading down by 1,770,000 sales on the previous days. This may have been caused partly by the general slowdown as a result of the transport strike which has crippled the city for some days.
