Many Special Issues In 1966 (Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON. Jan. 5 The Postmaster-General (Mr Anthony Wedgwood-Benn) has refused a request by British Railways and the Ministry of Transport to issue a stamp to commemorate the inauguration of electric services in London, Liverpool and Manchester. The reason is that Britain has a full stamps programme tor 1966. There will be stamps for Robert Burns on January 25, for the 900th anniversary of Westminster Abbey and the World Cup football series :n June, and the Battle of Hastings in October In addition there will be new regional issues in February, and a complete new series of permanent stamps with a portrait of the Queen taken by Lord Snowdon.
