Van Rolls Over

When a small van rolled over last evening and came to rest upside down in a ditch about three miles on the Christchurch side of Little River, on the Akaroa-Christ-church highway, three members of the same family suffered minor injuries. Mr J. F. Van der Veen, of 6 Holland street, was pinned beneath the van and suffered leg injuries. His wife and mother both suffered minor injuries and were apparently thrown clear. A St John ambulance was called at 7.40 pun., all three were taken to the Christchurch Hospital, and discharged after treatment. A breakdown truck from Little River lifted the van from Mr Van der Veen’s legs.

It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do little. —Sydney Smith.
