YORKSHIRE RECOVERS

Aust Bowlers Lethargic

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SHEFFIELD, June 16.

The Australians, after routing Yorkshire for 113 and forcing it to follow on 182 runs behind, failed to press home their advantage on the second day yesterday. At the close Yorkshire had scored 136 for one in its second innings. The Australian bowling showed a strange lack of the killer instinct in the county team’s second innings, when the attack appeared most lethargic. The leg spinner, R. Sellers, who took five for 36 in the first innings, was .given only four overs in the second innings. After the opening pair, K. Taylor and J.' Hampshire, had put on 69 in slow time, Hampshire was run out by the substitute fieldsman, B. A. Jarman, after batting 100 minutes for his- 24 runs. At stumps, Taylor was 81 not out after three hours.
