TOWN HALL FINANCE
Help Sought In Country Areas
It understood that the chairman of the Akaroa County Council had said his council should consider supporting the town hall project, the town hall committee said in its report to the City Council. “The committee feels that local bodies over a wider area, such as the Kaiapoi and Rangiora boroughs and the Rangiora, Akaroa, Mount Herbert and Eyre County Councils, may be prepared to assist the project financially, not on a proportionate but on a contributory basis,” the committee said. , The. council agreed to seek the views of these councils.
