HOSPITAL LOAN
Full Amount Subscribed
The North Canterbury Hospital Board had filled its current £150.000 loan, the chairman of the board (Dr. L. C L. Averill) announced yesterday.
"With great pleasure. 1 am able to announce the filling of the loan today, the scheduled closing date." said Dr. Averill.
“The board is very gratified with the magnificent public response to this loan, which opened on April 17. he said
“Subscriptlions from within the North Canterbury district were £lOl.OOO Another £35.000 came from adjoining districts, and £14.000 from other South Island districts and from the North Island. “Previous investors in the board's loans subscribed £36,000. while new investors provided £114.000. "As chairman of the board, I personally thank all subscribers both from within and outside the North Canterbury Hospital Board district for this expression of public confidence. which enables the board to continue its expansion and development of hospital services in its area.”
