JEWS’ ART TREASURES

Evidence At Jerusalem

f N .Z J».A.-Reuter— Copyright) JERUSALEM. May 17.

A letter from Adolf Eichmann to the Dusseldorf secret police headquarters with instructions to acquire Jewish art treasures was submitted by the prosecution in his trial today. Mr Jacob Bar-Or, an assistant prosecutor, said Eichmann had sought to explain the letter by “palming it off on to Reichsmarshal Hermann Goering, who had a particular taste for such art treasures” The document, written in August, 1941, was submitted by the prosecution as part of its evidence about Nazi actions against Jews during World War II within the “Greater German Reich." Mr Justice Moshe Landau, the presiding Judge, said there would be no afternoon session today because of the funeral of Mr David Rosolio, a senior Government official, who was a relative of Judge Benjamin Halevi, another of the three trial judges.
