SOUTH BRIGHTON AREA
Relief From Sewer Loan Rates
Areas of South NewJ Brighton not included in the; stage 2 reticulation programme would be excluded from loan rating with effect from the current financial year. the Christchurch ' Drainage Board agreed last evening. The board considered a complaint from a resident of the area that he had been paying sewer loan rates on his property without receiving any service from the board. The sewer in Marine parade ended at Halsey street, the construction committee said. It would be possible to extend it for 20 chains, and that work was provided for in the stage 2 reticulation loan. The rest of the area could not be reticulated until the stage 3 reticulation programme was begun, and no priority for it had vet been fixed. The area, like the rest of 1 New Brighton, had been paying loan rates for the last 14 years or so, the finance committee said.
