Lack Of Racing Considering his lack of racing, False Step did well to run second to Apmat last week and his trainer-driver, C. C. Devine, was certain that False Step would improve with the outing. False ptep’s price today was quoted at 5 to 2, while Apmat was 2 to 1. The American pacer Mr Budlong drew No. 1 position, and the top United States money-winner and record holder Bye Bye Byrd drew No. 3. Arania has not shown her best form in the international events so far, but the mare has a strong burst of speed which could help overcome the disadvantage of the draw.
