TRADE WITH BRITAIN
Dissociation From Campaign
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. May 16. The president of the New Zealand Millinery Manufacturers’ Association (Mr R. J. McKibbin) yesterday dissociated the association from the campaign against British exporters begun by an Auckland millinery manufacturer, Mr H. N. Adams, last week. Mr Adams is telling executives of the five companies with which he is associated: “If Britain gives us a fair go with our dairy products, then we will buy from British firms.” Mr McKibbin said: "It is rather unfair to British manufacturers who aren’t responsible for British trade policies, but in any case it is pretty much an empty threat. “About 70 per cent, of our trade requirements are bought in the foreign market because British prices are higher.”
